Medical imaging AI should be built under the same discipline that clinicians apply to their own work. This page explains how TamRx handles data, evaluation, clinical safety, privacy and security.
Clinical safety
Our approach to clinical risk management under DCB0129.
Security
How we protect company and development data.
Privacy
How we use personal data, and your rights.
Data we use
TamRx is developed on de-identified public datasets. Before a dataset is used, we check that its licence permits our intended use, and we credit sources where the licence requires it. We do not process identifiable patient data.
How we evaluate
Results in medical imaging AI are easily overstated when images from the same patient, or near-identical images, appear in both training and test data. We split data at patient level, control for duplicates and evaluate on frozen, versioned datasets, so that every result can be traced and reproduced. We will publish methods and results once they have been independently reviewed.
Designed to defer
TamRx shows the evidence behind each suggestion: similar cases with confirmed outcomes, and what supports or argues against each diagnosis. When that evidence is insufficient, it says so and defers to the clinician. The clinician remains responsible for every decision.
Clinical safety
Clinical risk management follows DCB0129, the NHS standard for manufacturers of health IT. A Clinical Safety Officer will be appointed before any NHS deployment. Read more about clinical safety.
Quality and regulation
We are building our processes towards an ISO 13485-aligned quality management system, with the UKCA and FDA pathways in view. TamRx software is a research prototype: it is not UKCA marked or FDA cleared, and is not available for clinical use.
Data protection
TamRx Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration ZC266873) and processes personal data in line with UK GDPR. Our privacy notice explains what we collect and why.
Programmes and independence
TamRx is a member of NVIDIA Inception and Nexus (University of Leeds), has taken part in the Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber Propel and IEP programmes, is supported by AWS Activate and is a member of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. It has been awarded a compute allocation through the EuroHPC AI Factory Fast Lane programme.
